Peter Templer

Peter worked for 30 years as an Air Traffic Controller, including more than 15 years in a range of management roles. After retiring in 2000, he worked as a consultant in career management and also on human factors issues in aviation accidents for the Australian Transport Safety Bureau. Peter lived at Piccadilly for nearly 20 years and, after spending some time in Canberra, now lives at Oakbank. Peter’s community interests include Rotary, including being President of Canberra City Rotary Club and President Elect of the Rotary Club of Onkaparinga, and veteran and vintage vehicle and machinery activities.  As well as the Rotary appointments, Peter has held a number of   positions with other community organisations. He has been a member of the AHFM Committee since its inception in 2009, and brings a strong history of experience in managing voluntary and community groups. He has family connections with the Adelaide Hills encompassing 4 generations and a passion to see the area grow and prosper while retaining its unique rural character.

Treasurer

Geoff is a long-time hills resident who has been part-time farming for over thirty years at meadows producing cut flowers, sheep, cattle, hay and certified organic vegetable seedlings & potted herbs. Geoff’s day job is at the University of South Australia lecturing to students who become land Valuers & urban property managers and researching rural property issues including farmers markets. Geoff has been a stallholder at farmers market over the last seven years and brings this experience and his research knowledge to the board. Geoff is easy to identify at the market with his barefoot practices. Geoff is supported in the farming operations by his partner Karen and his parents. Geoff currently is a member of the Advisory Board of Agriculture and has served on the Soil Conservation board and Mt Lofty Ranges Catchment Board. Geoff is committed to supporting sustainable agriculture and the sustainable use of agricultural land including smallholdings.

Secretary

Terri Pamment, a long term Hills dweller with a keen interest in local and community events lives on half an acre in Mount Barker with her partner Paul.  She is employed by the University of Adelaide as the University Libraries’ Staff Development Co-ordinator.  She has a Bachelor of Business in Administrative Management and a Masters degree in Information Studies.  In addition to currently serving on various work committees past voluntary committee experience includes convenor of the 2009 ALIA National Library and Information Technicians Conference. Held at the Adelaide Convention Centre this conference attracted over 300 national and international delegates and twenty-five sponsors and exhibitors.

Terri enjoys walking, cycling and swimming and is an avid gardener and cook, being a librarian she also boasts a vast collection of cookery books.  She believes everyone should be able to enjoy a healthy lifestyle with opportunities for exercise and access to fresh produce and wholesome food.  She can be contacted at secretary(at)ahfm.org.au
